2025 scholarship available in Ghana now

As of February 9, 2025, several scholarship opportunities are available for tertiary education in Ghana:
1. Youth In Need (YIN) Ghana Foundation Scholarship 2025

Eligibility Criteria:
- Ghanaian citizen aged 14-20 years.
- Aggregate of 9 or better in WASSCE.
- Admission letter from a public university in Ghana as a regular student.
- Not currently receiving support from any other scholarship scheme.
Eligible Undergraduate Courses:
- Law
- Nursing/Midwifery
- Political Science
- Engineering
- Economics
- Business Administration
- Environmental Science
- Medical Laboratory
- Education
- Medicine
- Pharmacy
- Theology (Trinity Theological Seminary Only)
Application Process:
- Complete the application package, including:
- Two most recent high school terminal reports.
- WASSCE result slip.
- Birth certificate.
- Letter of recommendation.
- 500-word essay on why you need support.
- Any other supporting documents (e.g., parents’ payslip, death certificate in case of parents’ death).

Selection Procedure:
- Aptitude test.
- Interview.
- Background assessment (for selected applicants).
- Issuance of award letter.

2. Ghana Scholarships Secretariat Opportunities
The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat offers various scholarships for both local and foreign tertiary education. These include:
- Local Tertiary Scholarships: Available for students who have gained admission into accredited local tertiary institutions.
- Foreign Tertiary Scholarships: Offered in collaboration with countries such as Russia, Hungary, Algeria, China, Morocco, and through the Commonwealth Secretariat.
Application Process:
- Visit the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat website.
- Click on “Apply Online” and sign up to create an account.
- Log in to your scholarship account.
- Complete the application form.
- Upload academic transcripts, admission letters, and academic certificates.
- Complete an online aptitude test.
- You will be scheduled for a selection interview in your selected district.
Application Deadlines:
- Continuing Students: Apply online between April 1 – May 15 of the 2025/2026 academic year.
- New Students with Late Admission: Apply between September 1 – 30 of the 2025/2026 academic year.
3. Tertiary Education Scholarship Trust (TEST) for Ghana 2024-2025
TEST for Ghana offers scholarships for undergraduate studies at public universities and polytechnics in Ghana. The scholarships are biased towards females (60:40) from the poorest regions of the country and are also available to handicapped students.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Ghanaian students who have been admitted to a public tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Strong academic performance.
Application Process:
- Download the application form from the TEST for Ghana website.
- Complete the application form in full, providing detailed information.
- Submit the completed application form to the student financial aid office of your institution or post it to TEST for Ghana through their postal address.
Supporting Documents:
- Photocopy of examination results.
- Photocopy of admission letter.
- Evidence of income of parent/guardian.
- Most up-to-date academic transcript.
- Applicant’s most current payslip, if applicable.
- Documents/evidence to establish the relationship with siblings and/or dependents, if applicable.
- Any other supporting documents that will assist in the processing of the application.
- Death certificates for applicants with deceased parents or guardians.
