The Principal of Komenda College of Education, Very . Rev. Professor Kwesi Nkum Wilson has urged government to scrap teacher trainee allowances and abolish the quota system to allow more admissions into Colleges of Education across the country.

He argued that removing both the allowance and the quota system would pave the way for higher enrollment, ensuring that more trained teachers are available to meet the growing demand in Ghana’s classrooms.

According to him, expanding access to teacher education should take precedence over maintaining allowances, which benefit only a limited number of students under the quota system.
