Colleges of Education students to begin their national service early this year

Most students who completed college of education last year asked when are they going to start their national service?
Some too asked is the national service a mandatory and the answer remains Yes. It’s a sole responsibility of every graduate to serve his or her country for a year after graduating from a public Tertiary institutions. Without national service, it assumes you are not fully qualified or satisfied to be employed in any recognized government institution.
One may also ask, what is the important of doing a national service after graduating from a public Tertiary institutions.
The national service play Major roles in an upcoming individual who will soon be in the government sector to exhibit the skills or knowledge one has gone to acquire from school as a graduate. It equippes one to be more experienced on the job before been enrolled fully into the sector. One should not take national service for granted and it may cost you if you do so.

The 2024/2025 service personnel are currently at Post doing their services. The current level 400s are also doing their macros teaching or out program. The spaces to accommodate 2026/2027 year personnel not be available as such.
Also, CETAG strike has also made it difficult for current 400s to determine when they will finish their internship.
This won’t give room for those who completed college last year to also begin their national service early this year. Per the calendar, the 2024/2025 service personnel will end their service in February,2026 and will go for a month leave ending their national service.

This will creates more space for incoming Service Personnel in various basic schools. This means that 2026/2027 service personnel of college of education should prepare to start their national service in late March or early April 2026.
Prospective personnel should prepare their particulars down for the national service registration processes. Make sure the name used in school tally with your Ghana card and birth certificate. If you have anything as such to do, please this is the right time to start doing those corrections before the time arrives.
