According to the statement from the Department of Public Relations at General Headquarters, Burma Camp, a story circulating on social and digital media alleged that nearly 60 percent of applicants screened for recruitment were HIV positive. The Ghana Armed Forces stated clearly that no such conclusion has been reached, stressing that the medical screening process is still ongoing and that no results have been released.

Any information relating to outcomes of such processes, the military emphasized, can only be communicated through officially sanctioned channels.
