Grading system for Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training Entrepreneurial Development

The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) follows a structured grading system to assess students’ academic performance. This system ensures fairness and consistency in evaluating coursework, examinations, and other academic activities. Below is a detailed explanation of how grades are assigned at AAMUSTED.
Each student’s performance in a course is evaluated using a percentage score, which is then converted into a letter grade. Each letter grade corresponds to a specific Grade Point (GP), which contributes to the student’s Grade Point Average (GPA) or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).https://chat.whatsapp.com/HPfqFbuSt7fA2MVV742k2V
The grading system is as follows:
A student who scores between 80 and 100 percent receives an “A” grade, which is classified as Excellent. This grade carries a Grade Point of 4.0 and is the highest possible score a student can achieve.
A score in the range of 75 to 79 percent is assigned a grade of “B+”, which signifies Very Good performance. This grade is associated with a Grade Point of 3.5.
Students who score between 70 and 74 percent earn a “B” grade, which is considered Good. The corresponding Grade Point for this score is 3.0.
A percentage score between 65 and 69 percent results in a “C+” grade, categorized as Fairly Good. This grade carries a Grade Point of 2.5.
Those who achieve a score in the range of 60 to 64 percent receive a “C” grade, which is considered Satisfactory. It has a Grade Point of 2.0.
A score between 55 and 59 percent is given a “D+” grade, which is classified as Unsatisfactory. The Grade Point for this score is 1.5.
If a student scores between 50 and 54 percent, they receive a “D” grade, which is considered Weak Pass. This grade corresponds to a Grade Point of 1.0.
A score below 50 percent results in an “E” grade, which is classified as Fail. This means the student has not met the minimum requirements for passing the course, and the Grade Point assigned is 0.
Now let’s look at the Interpretation of GPA and CGPA
The GPA is calculated by averaging the Grade Points of all courses taken in a particular semester. The CGPA, on the other hand, represents the overall academic performance of a student across multiple semesters.
To determine academic standing, AAMUSTED uses the CGPA to classify degrees. Generally, students with a CGPA of 3.6 to 4.0 graduate with First Class Honors. A CGPA between 3.0 and 3.59 results in a Second Class Upper, while a CGPA from 2.5 to 2.99 leads to a Second Class Lower classification. Students with a CGPA between 2.0 and 2.49 receive a Third Class degree, and those with a CGPA between 1.0 and 1.99 graduate with a Pass classification. If a student’s CGPA falls below 1.0, they may not qualify for graduation.
This grading system ensures that students receive appropriate recognition for their efforts while maintaining academic standards. Please be guided with this and work hard towards your academic. Please share and comment thank you.
