Bees attacked and killed National Democratic Congress (NDC) Supporter after a town hall meeting with branch executives ahead of the December 30 parliamentary rerun.

A man believed to be in his mid-60s has died after he was attacked by a swarm of bees in Kpandai in the Northern Region on Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2025.

The tragic incident occurred at the Bowmarie Resort shortly after the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) held a town hall meeting with branch executives ahead of the December 30 parliamentary rerun.

Eyewitnesses said the bees suddenly swarmed onto the road near the venue, causing pedestrians and motorists to flee in panic. The deceased, who was riding a motorbike towards the Kpandai township, reportedly rode into the swarm and was attacked.

According to witnesses, the man lost control of his motorbike after sustaining multiple stings and fell onto the road, where the bees continued to attack him until he died.

Residents described the scene as chaotic, with people running in different directions to avoid being stung. The cause of the sudden bee attack remains unclear.

The bees suddenly descended on him. He tried to escape but couldn’t. He got off the motorbike and attempted to run, but fell, and they kept attacking him until he gave up the ghost. It was terrifying to witness,” an eyewitness recounted.

Meanwhile, the Kpandai District Police have taken custody of the body, which has been deposited at the Kete-Krachi mortuary pending investigations and an autopsy.
