JUSMAnewshub -27th January 2026

The journey to joining Ghana’s internal security services is one many young people look forward to, but it can also feel confusing if you do not understand how the process works. Right now, recruitment is moving step by step, and knowing what each phase involves can help applicants stay calm, focused, and well prepared.

The first stage of the recruitment process is the online application. This begins with purchasing the recruitment form and filling it out online. At this stage, your basic details, education, and eligibility are reviewed to determine whether you qualify to move forward. Many applicants are screened out here, so accuracy and honesty are very important.

Stage two comes after successful online processing. Applicants who qualify are called up for physical screening and documentation. This is where original certificates and personal documents are checked. It is also an opportunity for the services to confirm that applicants meet the basic physical and background requirements.

The third stage is the aptitude test. This stage is crucial because it assesses your reasoning, basic knowledge, and ability to follow instructions. As of now, the aptitude test is expected to take place early next month, and all applicants are strongly advised to prepare seriously for it.

Stage four focuses on medical examinations. Only applicants who have successfully passed the online application, screening, and aptitude test will be invited. Medical checks are done to ensure candidates are physically and mentally fit for the demands of security work.

After medicals comes stage five: vetting and interviews. At this point, background checks are conducted, and applicants may be interviewed to assess character, discipline, and readiness for service.

The final stage is the issuance of appointment letters. Successful applicants are then invited to resume training, which typically lasts six months.

Currently, three of the four security services have almost completed their screening stages, with immigration still in progress. This means applicants should stay alert, prepare for the aptitude test, and follow official updates closely.
