The Government noted that this achievement is part of a broader strategy to stabilise the economy and place public finances on a sustainable path. In the coming months, authorities intend to intensify reforms aimed at improving domestic revenue mobilisation, strengthening public financial management systems, and enhancing public debt management practices. These reforms are expected to support long-term fiscal stability and reduce vulnerabilities in the economy.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance indicated that efforts will continue to build adequate fiscal buffers. These buffers are designed to ensure that future debt service obligations are met without disruption, while also creating space to finance key development priorities that support growth and social progress.

The Government expressed appreciation to the people of Ghana for their patience, support, and understanding throughout the economic recovery process. Officials acknowledged that the cooperation of citizens has played a critical role in enabling the country to meet its obligations and implement necessary reforms.

Finally, the Government appealed for continued forbearance and collaboration from all stakeholders as further economic reforms are rolled out in the year ahead. With the gains achieved in 2025, authorities expressed optimism that 2026 will mark an even stronger year for Ghana’s economy and development trajectory.
