The agreement will allow qualified Ghanaian professionals many of whom struggle to find local jobs to work in Jamaica under fair conditions and equal pay. It’s a smart solution to Ghana’s oversupply of trained workers and Jamaica’s urgent demand for staff.

Ablakwa emphasized that the deal is ethical, mutually beneficial, and part of a broader vision to turn Ghana’s human resource surplus into economic value. The first wave of professionals is expected to be deployed later this year.

For Ghana, this means job creation and increased remittances. For Jamaica, it’s a lifeline for public services. For Africa, it’s a message: skilled workforce exports can be a strategic asset not a crisis.
