UEW Grading Scale
The grading scale at UEW is as follows:

GPA Calculation
To calculate the GPA:
- Multiply the grade point of each course by its credit hours to get the weighted points.
- Sum all weighted points.
- Divide the total weighted points by the total credit hours.
For example, if a student has the following grades:
- Course A: B+ (3.5) in a 3-credit course
- Course B: A (4.0) in a 2-credit course
Weighted points = (3.5 × 3) + (4.0 × 2) = 10.5 + 8 = 18.5 Total credit hours = 3 + 2 = 5 GPA = 18.5 / 5 = 3.7
Note: For repeated courses, both grades are recorded, but only the higher grade is considered in the GPA calculation.
Additional Grade Notations
UEW uses specific notations for unique academic situations:
- I: Incomplete
- W: Withdrawn
- UD: Unofficial Drop
- X: Disqualification
- Y: Work in Progress
- Z: Examination Malpractice
