National Service Authority clarify NSS Certificate Attestation rejection by Organization or institution
JUSMAnewshub -21st January 2026

The information gathered by JUSMAnewshub is that, the National Service Authority (NSA) has issued a press with strong clarification regarding the validity of its attestation letters, following growing concerns from service personnel and institutions across the country.
In a press release dated Wednesday January 21, 2026, the Management of the National Service Authority addressed reports that some organizations have refused to recognize attestation letters presented by National Service Personnel. This situation, according to the Authority, has particularly affected personnel who are yet to receive their National Service Certificates or those who have unfortunately misplaced them.
According to the NSA, this practice is unnecessary and inconsistent with established procedures. Management explained that attestation letters are not issued arbitrarily. Instead, they are provided only after thorough verification of a service person’s eligibility and status within the national service system.
JUSMAnewshub understands that, the Authority emphasized that an NSA-issued attestation letter serves as an official confirmation of a person’s National Service Programme (NSP) status. These letters are issued in line with the NSA’s mandate to administer, regulate, and manage national service in Ghana.
The press release further made it clear that attestation letters are valid official documents. They are issued only after due verification and are intended to temporarily serve the same purpose as the National Service Certificate when the certificate is not immediately available.
The NSA therefore urged all organizations, employers, and stakeholders to accord full recognition and acceptance to attestation letters issued by the Authority. This move, the Authority believes, will ease unnecessary stress on service personnel and promote fairness in employment and institutional processes.
JUSMAnewshub confirmed from NSA that institutions requiring additional confirmation have been advised to contact the National Service Authority directly through its official communication channels for verification.
