Newborn Baby Girl Rescued After Being Abandoned in Bush Near Bronyibima Estate

A newborn baby girl has been rescued after being abandoned in a bush near a private school at Bronyibima Estate, close to Elmina in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality.

The infant was discovered on Tuesday afternoon by a rabbit farmer who was going about his routine work in the area. According to reports, he heard faint cries coming from a nearby bush and decided to investigate. To his shock, he found the baby wrapped carefully in cloth and placed inside a polythene bag. The child had been left unattended, exposed to the elements, and entirely dependent on chance for survival.

The farmer quickly raised an alarm, drawing the attention of nearby residents. The baby was promptly rescued and rushed to Bronyibima Hospital for medical attention. Health officials have confirmed that the infant is currently in stable condition and responding well to care. Medical staff are closely monitoring her while ensuring she receives the necessary treatment and support.

Authorities have since stepped in to handle the situation.  For the purpose of clarity, JUSMANEWSHUB  made a call to the Municipal Chief Executive of KEEA, Honourable Zaggoon and he confirmed the case and said that the Department of Social Welfare has taken custody of the baby as investigations begin to identify and locate those responsible for the abandonment. Officials say efforts are underway to gather information from the community and determine the circumstances that led to the incident.

The MCE confirmed that as at now no one has shown up to claim the ownership of the abandoned babe.

The case has sparked concern among residents in the area, with many expressing shock and sadness over the abandonment. Community members have commended the swift actions of the farmer whose alertness and compassion likely saved the newborn’s life.

Police and social welfare authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist with ongoing investigations.
