Over 20 Teachers, Invigilators face possible Dismissal over WASSCE Examination Malpractices – GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that more than 20 teachers and invigilators are facing possible dismissal over their involvement in examination malpractices during this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

According to GES, the individuals were cited for various acts of misconduct that compromised the integrity of the exams. In recent leaked video, some invigilators were caught taking 60gh from each students as an appreciation fee to allow the students have their way in to practice what we called examination malpractices. This act totally breaches the integrity of WAEC.

Officials say investigations are ongoing, and those found guilty will face dismissal as part of efforts to protect the credibility of the country’s education system.

GES stressed that it remains committed to ensuring fairness and discipline in the conduct of national examinations. The service also warned teachers and supervisors to strictly adhere to examination guidelines to avoid severe sanctions in the future.
