President John Dramani Mahama has increased the number of applicants to be recruited into the security services and no longer 5,000

The current recruitment in the security services, Prison, Immigration, Fire and Police has been labeled as one of the sectors that employs majority of Ghanaian youth.

Due to unemployment issue affecting the country, many youth always prefer to take advantage of any national security forces when it’s time for recruitment.

Not long ago, the ministry of interior announces the commencement of recruitment in the four state security services as 2025/2026 recruitment.

The recruitment went through several stages and the aptitude test has just ended and the results were released.

After the results were released, the attention of the public has been drawn to massive disqualification due to poor performance and other unknown reasons that affected many.

The public raise a strong disappointment in the mode of the exam that led to mass disqualification they said. Many applicants felt cheated and called on the government to reconsider the number to be recruited this year in order to reduce and consider some people who were disqualified due to some minor issues.

Initially, the government promised to recruit 20,000 young Ghanaian into the security services for the first four years. 5,000 per year. Majority also have the concern that, due to the limited number needed this year, that has resulted in mass disqualification in order for the government to arrive at its targeted number this year.

In this concern, the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency the president, John Dramani Mahama released a presidential statement from the Jubilee House that, the number has been increased to 40,000.

What it means is that, the number of applicants to be taken this year has increased to 10,000 instead of 5,000. This is a 100% increments. This will allow the system to give many applicants the opportunity to recruited.

Many applicants were happy and described the president as a listening leader.

Many applicants should exercise some patient and wait quietly if grace can speak for them to be part of the 10,000 people that shall be recruited this.
