Relief for Trainee Teachers as Licensure Exam Pass Mark Reviewed

JUSMAnewshub - 26th July,2025

In a major development for teacher trainees nationwide, the required pass mark for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination has been officially reviewed downward. The initial passed Mark was 70% and has been reversed to 52%.

Recent dialogue between education authorities and student representatives has led to a more flexible standard that aligns better with the realities of teacher preparation. The change is expected to reduce the failure rate and allow more competent trainees to enter the teaching profession.
