The Students Loan Trust Fund has announced the successful completion of academic fee reimbursements for first-year students enrolled in public tertiary institutions for the 2024/2025 academic year. The exercise was carried out under the government’s No Fees Stress initiative, which seeks to reduce the financial burden on students and families across Ghana.
According to the Fund, the reimbursement process covered students who were fully validated after submitting applications through their respective institutions. The initiative forms part of a broader national effort to improve access to higher education and ensure that no eligible student is denied the opportunity to pursue tertiary studies due to financial constraints.
In total, 178,745 enrolment records for first-year students were submitted by public tertiary institutions nationwide. From this figure, 168,855 students completed their applications as required by the Students Loan Trust Fund. Following a thorough verification process, 152,698 students were successfully validated and reimbursed for their academic fees.
The Fund explained that the validation process involved careful checks to confirm eligibility, accuracy of student data, and compliance with the guidelines of the No Fees Stress programme. Applications that did not meet the required criteria were excluded to ensure accountability and the proper use of public funds.

To promote openness and allow students to independently confirm their status, the Students Loan Trust Fund has introduced an online No Fees Stress Status Checker. This tool is accessible on the Fund’s official website and enables students to check whether their applications have been validated and whether reimbursements have been processed.
